Public consultation is an integral component of this study. It is necessary to engage stakeholders to identify the key issues the community may have so that they can be addressed accordingly. The opportunity for stakeholder input will be provided throughout the course of this study.

The first of two Public Information Centres (PICs) for this project was held on November 25, 2014. The purpose of PIC #1 was to present and receive input on the study process, background of the previously recommended plan (identified in 2004), existing conditions, findings of the traffic analysis, the mainline and interchange alternative(s) under consideration, and the process for evaluating alternatives.

Members of the public, area residents and all stakeholders were invited to attend PIC #1. This PIC was an informal drop-in centre and representatives from MTO and AECOM (formerly URS Canada Inc.) were available to answer questions and discuss the study.

PIC #1 was held as follows:

Tuesday November 25, 2014
4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre
Churchill Ballroom
20 Fairview Rd, Barrie, L4N 4P3

PIC #2 was held as follows:

Tuesday April 25, 2017
4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre
